What We Do

At HomeBlend, we donate to microfinance projects in Africa. What this means is that our money, along with others, is invested to help expand a small business in africa. Once they've managed to expand, they pay the money back with no interest. This then gets reinvested into another business in Africa, which we then double with a new contribution! We think this is better than just donating to charity, as it is helping people build a sustainable livelihood, not just accept aid!
At the moment we are investing in the Gulu C 2001(i) Group. "This group has been together for one year and six months. Mary is 45 years old and married with five children. She runs a butcher shop. With the extra business profits, Mary intends to pay school fees for the children. Gertrude and Mary have piggery businesses. Specioza has grocery store!
